The man in the Train!!

The ticket was not confirmed. I went to the TTE and enquired. He took my ticket and checked the new list. ' 62 '. He said even without looking at my face. I was happy to get the berth. Taking my bag I went to my berth. I was on my way home from my college for my cousin's marriage. As the date was fixed very late, I could book the ticket only a week before the date. It was the train from Trivandrum to Mangalore boarding at 8:40 pm. I kept my bag on my berth and sat on the lower berth. I looked the time. 8:20 pm. 20 minutes more. I moved to the window to see the platform and the busy people walking on it. Suddenly a man came and kept his bag on the seat. It seemed like his berth. When I just stood he said me smiling to sit there. He was a tall man well built. After keeping his belongings safe he sat near me. ' Where are you going? ' He asked me. ' Shornur '. We had a small conversation then. I said about my college, my school, and about my place. I could learn that he was a Police officer. He was going to Calicut. He said about his profession. About half an hour after leaving Trivandrum, I slept on my berth. Thinking about different incidents slowly I slipped in to deep sleep. I woke up from a fruitful dream. i looked at the watch. 6:10 am. I rushed from my bed and looked out of the window to see where the train was. It was leaving Shornur. I was late. I took my bag and was in a hurry to jump out. train had not left the platform, but it is speeding up. I opened the door and prepared myself to jump out. Suddenly someone took hold on my left hand. I turned back and saw the man whom i met last night. ' Don't do foolish '. He said. ' You can board the train in next station, Pattambi and catch a bus '. He added. I understood what I was doing and went back to my seat. After reaching Pattambi I left thanking him, for his advice.

Next train is at 2:40 pm. The man at the enquiry counter said. I looked at my watch. Another two hours more. Imperceptibly he added. There is a passenger train at 1:15 pm from the second platform. I was relieved hearing him, and I went back to the waiting room to join Alex. We shifted to 2nd platform taking our belong with us. The game was in good progress. We had started to create a formation for making the goal. Each player had started to mark a player at the opponent and it made the game more interesting. It was just a 12 year herd playing a time pass football match. The ground was really tough for us to cop up with, the contour was fluctuating for the full length. The match was interrupted suddenly and I saw Arif and Ajith flooding to the right corner of the ground. I shouted at them and asked to get back in to the match. We got hardly an hour a day for games in the busy schedule of Navodaya,my school. I understood they were running a bit seriously, and i joined them. Luis Figo- Someone to admire!!

I was in 9th standard. It was the season when I had started to love football. And so I had started to see many major games on TV. I got familiarised with many teams and players. I enjoyed World cup and many good tournaments. One day Aneesh, my classmate told me about Figo. He said that Figo is a great player on the mid-fields. Later I saw his game and was amazed on his skills. I became a true fan of him and kept on watching his games. It was Euro'04. That too in Portugal. Al though I was a supporter of England, I wanted to see Figo win. Watching Portugal's game I thought they deserved the cup. They made their way on to the finals. Greece. The other finalists.
