Unbeaten 86
October 26. Many say it is a black day for Chelsea FC.
After 90 minutes of struggle, the team lost 1-0 at home. It had been 164 weeks, 1146 days, 4 years and 8 months since we lost a match at home. And when this record ended there were tears, there had to be. After all, no club in the world can boast of having not lost at home in 4 and half years.
But was it so bad to have this record? Hurling abuses at the manager, calling our players no good. Is this what they deserve after having worked their socks off to defend this record?
I don't think so. They are winners, they don't deserve to be jeered and booed after going 86 matches unbeaten at home in the League, at least not by their own fans.
Many hearts might have broken, but when you look at the positive side you know there's only good things to come. We don't have to play with an extra load of defending our turf when we play at home the next time. We'll play the beautiful game, simply beautifully.
