A Lovely Friend...

Rahul stepped with his right foot as he passed the college gate. That was the first day of Rahul's college life. All new faces. He didn't knew anyone in his class except Priya, who was also his classmate in school. And so they talked each other before they made a friendship with others. They became very close friends. They spent free time chatting, watching movies and they became always together. When they reached second year, they made more friends. Rahul made some good friends in hostel. Sandeep and Manoj were some of them. And as days passed by that friendship progressed adding Sandhya from Priya's side. Actualy Sandhya was Sandeep's girlfriend. But they spent more time with the gang different to a usual love affair. Manoj was a good singer. He always sang of an imaginary girl. He often complained that although he was good looking no girl would turn to him. Once Sandeep said Rahul to propose Priya, so that he can keep her always with him. It was from hostel and Rahul said not to say it again since they were best friends. They didn't bring it in the gang too. Since Priya was very serious Rahul knew well that she would not agree it. But Rahul couldn't forget Sandeep's words. He started to visualize Priya in that stand. But couldn't say it to anyone. Their college days passed with a lot of enjoyments in between. Manoj couldn't find his dream girl and Rahul didn't present his love.. And it was their final year. Only just days to be counted. By the time Rahul had built strong love for Priya in his mind. At last he said it to Manoj and explained how strong it was. They planned to say it to her as a surprise and waited for a good occasion. Priya came very excited on that day. She came to Rahul and said him to do one help. He was anxious to hear from her. Then she said. I want to be Manoj's dream girl. Rahul heard it shocked. She added that she had well thought of it and wanted him to help it workout. Priya loved Manoj so much. Her words were too bold. She was waiting for a long time for Manoj to think like that. At last she said. ' Rahul you are my best friend and I have no one else to ask for help '. Rahul's eyes were wet. He didn't know why he was crying. Where they the tears of sorrow or jealousy. He was walking lonely to the hostel. He went to the roof of hostel and spent a lot of time thinking. Priya is my best friend. I should never forget it. She loves Manoj very much. Its me whom she had approached first to express her feelings. So I should never cheat her. Let it be all normal. I would make her dream come true. Rahul pretended to make things normal in front of Sandeep. Whenever Sandeep tried to bring that topic Rahul changed it. Rahul also started to create Priya as Sandeep's dream girl.Soon Rahul said Manoj that Priya loves him. He saw Manoj enjoying those moments with a mind of a responsible friend. Sandeep was doubtful and asked Rahul. Rahul unwillingly said what had happened. He also said what his decision was. Sandeep didn't support it. He tried to make the situation worse. But Rahul strongly stopped him and told he was ready to accept the fate. The college life came to an end. Priya's parents were eager to arrange her marriage soon. Priya had introduced Manoj to them and had fixed everything. After two years out from college it was their marriage day. Rahul told Sandeep that he won't come. But he dragged him to the function. Rahul was not ready to see his first lover getting engaged. There were many on the function with the old gangsters. Rahul, Priya, Manoj, Sandeep and Sandhya were again together and refreshing their memories. Priya was very excited. She said .' Thanks Rahul!'. Rahul was surprised and asked why. She held close to her and added. ' For making this day come true! '. Rahul just nodded his head with a smile. Suddenly Priya asked Rahul.' Have you ever loved someone? '. Rahul was shocked and gazed at Sandeep. He seemed to be helpless. Rahul looked Priya. Her hands were strongly holding Manoj. ' No!' Rahul responded with a deep silence.' You are my best friend and you know my mind than anyone. ' He smiled at Sandeep and just blinked his eyes.

Next train is at 2:40 pm. The man at the enquiry counter said. I looked at my watch. Another two hours more. Imperceptibly he added. There is a passenger train at 1:15 pm from the second platform. I was relieved hearing him, and I went back to the waiting room to join Alex. We shifted to 2nd platform taking our belong with us. The game was in good progress. We had started to create a formation for making the goal. Each player had started to mark a player at the opponent and it made the game more interesting. It was just a 12 year herd playing a time pass football match. The ground was really tough for us to cop up with, the contour was fluctuating for the full length. The match was interrupted suddenly and I saw Arif and Ajith flooding to the right corner of the ground. I shouted at them and asked to get back in to the match. We got hardly an hour a day for games in the busy schedule of Navodaya,my school. I understood they were running a bit seriously, and i joined them. Luis Figo- Someone to admire!!

I was in 9th standard. It was the season when I had started to love football. And so I had started to see many major games on TV. I got familiarised with many teams and players. I enjoyed World cup and many good tournaments. One day Aneesh, my classmate told me about Figo. He said that Figo is a great player on the mid-fields. Later I saw his game and was amazed on his skills. I became a true fan of him and kept on watching his games. It was Euro'04. That too in Portugal. Al though I was a supporter of England, I wanted to see Figo win. Watching Portugal's game I thought they deserved the cup. They made their way on to the finals. Greece. The other finalists. On analysing their path I could find that they had just luckily entered to the finals. Praying for Portugal I sat infront of the TV. Figo played an amazing game. Made many good chances.
