I am at fast

'What is in the mess for tea?' Shamil asked. 'Biscuit'. I saw his face turning sad. 'What should we do?' Seeing me unanswered he said with a bit of excitement. ' Gafoor is the only option.' I knew he would say that. Smiling back I added. 'Set'. It was a day in between Ramzan in my school. We were not allowed to fast. The authorities strictly checked whether students were fasting. Even I was once caught staying back at hostel at lunch time, and I was strictly told to have food. So we had to keep our own ways to fast. We used to save the food we get at tea time. So if the tea was not satisfactory we had to choose another option. We would go to the shop outside and get something at the time. As the authorities were really strict and they didn't let anyone go outside the school without permission. It was for sure that the permission won't be granted. So we had created many outlets on the compound wall. We were in good terms with a shop keep...

Bush and the Shoe

The recent incident of Bush and the shoe has made a great impact on the public. Many designers got a chance to develop their skill and make games based on this. The protest against Bush and America was reflected in this incident. The hits that each game received is the proof that people hated him so much.

A bad Day.

I reached the College Office at 1 pm. There was a big queue. Amal was outside the office just killing his time. I joined him to see the beauty of my college from the first floor of the main building. I understood it was late for my exam. I went in front of the queue and asked for my hall ticket. ‘ I have my exam at 1:30. Make it fast.’ The clerk searched for my hall ticket in his bundle and couldn’t find my name. He tried once more confirming the name and number. But there wasn’t mine. I felt really angry and was about to shout at him. Suddenly Vipin pulled me from back and said. ‘ I didn’t find your number on the exam hall.’ Now I was little confused. I went to the hall and found that my number was not there. I didn’t knew whet was the solution at this 11 th hour. I said Vipin to go and write the paper. I rest on the step for a few minutes about the solution. I knew that if I try to contact the exam cell and enquire I can write the exam. But its already late and the whole procedure w...

Alumni Day

Image
' How was the program?' I asked Sreehari. ' The participation was much lower than expected. Just the lunch, and a game. ' He stopped with these words. Today was our Annual Alumni Day at school. I wanted to attend the function. But my busy exam schedule made me cancel it. I have an exam tomorrow and if I attend the function I will not reach for the exam in time. Another thing that happened for the decrease in participation was the date announcement. The date was just the starting of this week. So many who wanted to attended had to try for tickets and couldn't. I think the Alumni Committee didn't work efficiently this time. I often missed that campus which I had spent day and night for about 7 years. But whenever I try to attend the Alumni day function, somehow I will get engaged in some sort of business. This is the 4 th alumni day after I became an Alumni. I couldn’t even attend a single of it. Sreehari who is still a resident in the campus, since he is ...

My software experiences

My mobile was ringing intentionally to disturb my sleep. I checked my watch to know the time. 4:15pm. Murmuring and blaming the person who disturbed my sleep, I attended the call. It was Anoob. ' Where are you? Come fast '. I didn't had the idea what he was saying. So I asked him. ' Where are we going ?' He replied angrily 'Its too late. CPP tuition.' and disconnected. I checked my watch once again. As the last session in college was free I had slipped in to a sleep which made me even forget about the class. I rushed giving a sudden make up. When I had to learn C++ in the third semester of my B.Tech career I was really dedicated to it. I joined a tuition and tried my maximum to attend the classes. But I couldn't complete the course and thus I made it a back paper. When I made a second attempt to get that paper, once more the same interest in softwares came to my mind. I cleared the paper and also started a basic session of html and java. That too ended ...

Deciding the Path.

'You must stand in a line according to the order of your rank.' A fat young man with a specs started giving instructions. He wore specs but never looked through it. It laid at the edge of his nose. We were waiting for the Kerala Entrance counseling. The allotment was in the basis of rank. The counseling was a really another entrance test. We had to wait for a long time to have our turn. The man continued with his instructions and at last we were in. Clearing the formalities on the certificates we were said to sit according to rank. I knew only Ajesh who sat two rows in front of me. I had done the entrance coaching with him. Suddenly we were instructed to mark the required choices on the form provided. A blue screen was in front of us which updated the seat availability. I was a bit confused although I had well prepared about choosing the college and course. For confirmation I peeped in to the form of the guy who sat next to me. He had easily marked three options and sat highly ...

God's hand

Can GOD have birth? October 30,1960. A god was born on this date. Diego Armando Maradona. A player who was the only force for a team to be on the winning side. When he joined the national team itself he realized that the country strongly depended on him. But to prove these feelings he had to go through one of the worst shocks: not taking part in World Cup ‘78, that on top was going to take place in Argentina. He cried with no consolation, as if someone had died. He then promised his parents, his girlfriend and friends that he would win every single trophy in the world and would bring them home. Last day Maradona was here in India. He proved himself as the god by making a crowd of lakhs on Kolkata. People still believe this man as a mystery, as a god, not only in Argentina but in the whole world. He had his own problems and it has ruined his life at some stages. The drug addiction, the uncontrollable anger and more. But at Kolkata he was really diff...

An act of Culture

DEC 6, 1992 The date made its sixteenth anniversary, but the importance of this day is much a part of Indian culture. This was the day when Babri Masjid, a mosque built in the 16th century was destroyed by fundamentalists. I still have some fading memories of the day. I was only 6 and a half years old then. Muslim blood was injected in me, and so I was really thinking like my parents did. I saw the pictures. I was continuously thinking why this act had taken place. I remember many in my locality who had kept red face for it. They were seeing the demolishing of the monument right in front of their face by thousands. I often thought about the involvement of Politics and Religion in personal life. I think Babri Masjid is the best example for it. This incident will be remembered in Indian history . However stupid it may be, the Babri problem will remain a central issue of Indian politics for a long, long time . Let everything stop by this. Try our best to make these people think in t...
