Deciding the Path.
'You must stand in a line according to the order of your rank.' A fat young man with a specs started giving instructions. He wore specs but never looked through it. It laid at the edge of his nose. We were waiting for the Kerala Entrance counseling. The allotment was in the basis of rank. The counseling was a really another entrance test. We had to wait for a long time to have our turn. The man continued with his instructions and at last we were in. Clearing the formalities on the certificates we were said to sit according to rank. I knew only Ajesh who sat two rows in front of me. I had done the entrance coaching with him. Suddenly we were instructed to mark the required choices on the form provided. A blue screen was in front of us which updated the seat availability. I was a bit confused although I had well prepared about choosing the college and course. For confirmation I peeped in to the form of the guy who sat next to me. He had easily marked three options and sat highly relaxed. But what I thought was contradictory with him. So I checked his name. Rizwan. So he will be supposed to choose what I have chosen, since we are both of Muslim Reservation and he is just a rank behind me. Seeing me peeping he said. ' Hi, I am Rizwan'. Giving him a hand. I introduced myself. He was handsome lean wearing a white shirt with red lines on it. Now we started discussing about the rank and the availability.
We were just minutes away from the allotment. There was only 6 Muslim reservation seats for our first preference. We were really anxious about the status. We enquired about it with the persons who had finished allotment. When my turn came I heard there were three seats more. At a time 5 persons are taking their options. I was really tensed about getting the seat. But as I sat in front of the computer, the man assisting me said there are two more seats. I didn't choose my option instead turned back and gave Rizwan a positive sign for his relaxation.
On the way back home we congratulated each other, and left saying that ' we will meet again from the college'.
