First day in MH...



MH was really a great place in my dreams. Two weeks passed since I had got in to the college. I had only heard about MH and its inmates. Hearing more and more made me love MH more and more.

I was staying in IC, a nearby hostel from college. As the list was not published I couldn't get in to Men's Hostel. My classmates who were already in MH said much about it. I was eager to be in MH and didn't had even got a chance to see it. Hearing about scolding from seniors made me and my friends away from seeing MH.

The new list for MH was published. Sadiq, who had also wished like me got in to list. He was ready to go and packed his things next day itself. It was a nice oppurtunity for us. We planned to go to MH accompanying Sadiq when he shifts his belongings. With a bag in my hand I moved with Sadiq. Safdar and Monish was also with me. Safdar was already an inmate of MH. We were discussing about what is going to happen. Sadiq instructed monish and me to leave when we reached at the turning to MH. But we didn't stop and kept on walking with him.

We reached at the gates of MH. I looked at that big fort. It seemed to be staring at me. I blinked my eyes and looked again. some seniors were there and started staring at us, somewhere asking many questions and also using many taboo words. As Safdar had reminded us not to look at the seniors and keep on walking, we never stopped. We arrived Sadiq's room. Kept his things there. I could find our classmates too.

After few minutes Monish and I left leaving Sadiq. We were nervous and planned not to turn back while walking. We walked straight to IC. We heard many calling us, but didn't turn to it. We got relaxed when we passed the gate. After moving a bit once again I turned back to see my favourite MH.

Next train is at 2:40 pm. The man at the enquiry counter said. I looked at my watch. Another two hours more. Imperceptibly he added. There is a passenger train at 1:15 pm from the second platform. The game was in good progress. We had started to create a formation for making the goal. Each player had started to mark a player at the opponent and it made the game more interesting. It was just a 12 year herd playing a time pass football match. The ground was really tough for us to cop up with, the contour was fluctuating for the full length. The match was interrupted suddenly and I saw Arif and Ajith flooding to the right corner of the ground. I shouted at them and asked to get back in to the match. We got hardly an hour a day for games in the busy schedule of Navodaya,my school. I understood they were running a bit seriously, and i joined them. Luis Figo- Someone to admire!!

I was in 9th standard. It was the season when I had started to love football. And so I had started to see many major games on TV. I got familiarised with many teams and players. I enjoyed World cup and many good tournaments. One day Aneesh, my classmate told me about Figo. He said that Figo is a great player on the mid-fields. Later I saw his game and was amazed on his skills. I became a true fan of him and kept on watching his games. It was Euro'04. That too in Portugal. Al though I was a supporter of England, I wanted to see Figo win. Watching Portugal's game I thought they deserved the cup. They made their way on to the finals. Greece. The other finalists. On analysing their path I could find that they had just luckily entered to the finals. Praying for Portugal I sat infront of the TV. Figo played an amazing game. Made many good chances.
